Coach Jakub Novak awarded the Order of Ikkos by USA National Team

Jakub Novak

Brisbane, Australia & San Francisco, USA

Jakub raced at UCI WorldTour level with the BMC Racing Team, the same squad as Tour de France winner & World Championships. He has first-hand experience of what preparation at the very highest level of cycling looks like, and has spent the past decade translating that knowledge into coaching.

Holds certifications from UCI, AUS Cycling, USA Cycling, and TrainingPeaks, and completed a Certificate in Sports Science from the University of Colorado. He was awarded the Order of Ikkos by the USA National Cycling Team - the highest honour in US Olympic sport, given to coaches of Olympic medalists.

Anya Louw

Tasmania, Australia & Girona, Spain

Anya is a current professional cyclist with the AG Insurance-Soudal Quick-Step Women's Team, one of the top squads in women's WorldTour cycling. She competes in the Tour de France Femmes, Paris-Roubaix, and other top-tier international races, and coaches concurrently.

The insights she brings to your training program reflect what's happening in elite racing right now, not years ago. Her coaching specialises in female athlete physiology, the unique demands of women's endurance sport, and the mental resilience required to perform at the highest level. She is AusCycling certified and TrainingPeaks accredited.

Deep knowledge of the Australian racing scene

Our coaches work with Australian cyclists year-round. They know the events, the conditions, and what it takes to arrive ready. Common targets include:

Peaks Challenge Falls Creek

235km · 4,000m climbing · March · Victoria
The defining endurance test on the Australian calendar. We run a 16–20 week build periodised around the March event date, with emphasis on sustained climbing power at threshold, alpine weather preparation, and fuelling strategies for 9–12 hour efforts. We treat the taper as seriously as the build — arriving at the start line peaked, not tired, is where most self-coached attempts fall apart.

Tour de Brisbane

100km · Rolling terrain · May · Queensland
Queensland's largest mass-participation cycling event demands heat management, rolling terrain fitness, and a proper taper — all three of which are easy to get wrong without a structured plan. We build Tour de Brisbane preparations around the Queensland climate, with heat adaptation sessions and specific fuelling protocols for humid conditions built into the final weeks.

Other events we prepare athletes for

Gran fondos · Road races · Triathlons · Personal milestones
We also work with athletes targeting L'Etape Australia, Grafton to Inverell, the Amy's Gran Fondo, Around the Bay, UCI Gran Fondo World Championships qualifiers, and national masters championships. Female athletes working with Anya can also access coaching specifically designed around women's physiology, training load management, and the particular demands of women's racing in Australia.

What they say about us

Jakub's rare combination of World Tour racing experience, sports science expertise, and data-driven coaching methodology sets him apart as a coach. He gets results - and his athletes know it."

Kevin Poulton
Performance Coach at World Tour UAE Team Emirates

"Jakub is incredibly supportive and exceptional cycling coach. He is giving close and thoughtful attention to my training, racing and other aspects of my life that affect performance."

Alex Bogna
Pro Team Alpecin-Fenix

"Working with PCC team has been fantastic, always available, clear goals and objectives. Communication was very enjoyable and the results are here for me: PR on all the target times, a stronger cycling ability and a lot of PRs & few KOMs !

Gaetan Nuyts
Paris, France

“They have organized my training with outstanding results.  My threshold heart rate has increased and fitness levels are up more than 20%.  They are dedicated to working with your schedule and creating a balanced scientific plan to achieve your goals.”

Alan Floyd
United States

“To add, I likewise do coaching myself but needed someone to help me with my goals. So far, I have been impressed with Jakub's holistic approach to training. It is not just about the bike workouts, it's the stretching, yoga, gym workouts and nutrition advice that gives you the full access to improvement."

Scott Mcdonnell
New Zealand

"Jakub works with me to tailor training plans that are effective, fit well into my work and family’s commitments. He’s a great motivator and a good coach to talk to for advises on all matters relating to cycling but most importantly Jakub understands the individual ability and differences to build the right training plans. Highly recommend Pro Cycling Coaching!"

Science, technology and experience.

Our team includes coaches who are actively racing at World Tour level right now, not just former professionals.

Anya Louw currently competes with AG Insurance-Soudal Quick-Step Women's Team in races including the Tour de France Femmes and Paris-Roubaix, and coaches concurrently. That means the training methodologies she brings to your program reflect what's working in elite racing today.

Combined with Jakub's UCI, AusCycling, and USA Cycling certifications and his Order of Ikkos recognition from the USA National Team, it's a depth of racing and coaching experience that is genuinely uncommon in the Australian market.
Is your coaching recognised by Cycling Australia?
Yes. Head coach Jakub Novak holds a current Cycling Australia (AusCycling) Level 1 accreditation - the governing body's highest coaching qualification for road cycling in Australia, alongside a UCI Level 1 licence and USA Cycling certification. Anya Louw is also AusCycling certified. Both coaches are TrainingPeaks accredited.
Can I choose which coach I work with?
Yes. At signup we ask about your goals, event focus, and preferences. Female athletes often choose to work with Anya Louw given her specialisation in women's physiology and her current racing experience at World Tour level. Athletes targeting gran fondos, road races, and stage events typically work with Jakub. You can also view individual coach profiles and request a specific coach directly.
How long before Peaks Challenge should I start?
A minimum 16-week build for Peaks Challenge Falls Creek. Given the scale of the event - 235km with 4,000m of climbing, arriving underprepared is a significant risk. With 20 or more weeks available, we can include a more gradual aerobic base phase before the specific event build begins. Get in touch with your event date and we'll map out a realistic timeline.
How long before Peaks Challenge should I start?
No! The beauty of our service is that you can cancel anytime you need to — no questions asked.
Do you coach athletes across all Australian states?
Yes, all coaching is delivered online via TrainingPeaks. We work with athletes in New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia, Western Australia, Tasmania, the Northern Territory, and the ACT. Video calls are available in AEST, ACST, and AWST. If client is at the same city as coach, we can also offer in person consulations or sessions.
Do you offer training plans without full coaching?
Yes. We offer event-specific training plans for Peaks Challenge Falls Creek, Tour de Brisbane, and other Australian events from $19/week through Tailored Training Plan. Plans are built around your current fitness and target event date - without the ongoing coach communication of a full package.
What makes your coaching different from other Australian coaches?
Our team includes coaches who are actively racing at World Tour level right now — not just former professionals.
Do you coach cyclists who compete in MTB, CX and Road?
Yes! We can assist you no matter what your cycling discipline is.
How much time do I need to train?
This depends on your particular goal, current fitness and other aspects but to take full advantage of coaching we expect you to have +6 hours a week for training. For athletes with full-time jobs, the ideal availability for cycling is about 13 hours a week to reach full potential, not including recovery weeks.
